Before you can enter content into the narrative, first you need to navigate the Plan Content sections, as all content is entered by section. Each section contains multiple requirements to be addressed with your narrative.

To go to your ‘Plan Content’ section, do the following.

  1. Log into the WIOA SPP and select ‘My Plans’ in the menu.
  2. Navigate to ‘Sections’ under ‘Plan Content.’ Let’s review the sections display.
  • The top section is WIOA State Plan Common Elements.
  • All sections display as collapsed when you view a state plan.
  • Expand each section by selecting the '+'.
  • Open or edit a section in a separate view by selecting the arrow.
  • Change the sections displayed by selecting a new status from the list of options.

To view the entire state plan, select ‘TOC View’ under ‘Plan Content.’ This provides a Table of Contents view of the entire plan including status of each section within the plan. From this view, if you have permission you can open any section or change the status.

Editing Narratives

Editors must edit and save each narrative separately. Any portal user can view narratives, but only those with the permission edit (for example, a State Staff Editor) can edit the narrative. Editors can edit a narrative while the status is in ‘Draft,’ but if the narrative is in status ‘Complete,’ the editor must change the status back to ‘Draft’ in order to edit.

While one person is editing a narrative, the content is locked so others cannot edit at the same time. Selecting ‘Save’ saves your edits and unlocks the narrative, making it available to anyone who has access to edit.

For steps on editing narratives, go to Entering and Editing Narrative Content.
