Editing a Published Plan (State)

Before state users can edit a published plan, first the federal user must enable the changes. Once federal modifications are made, the state user(s) can edit the plan elements marked for modification. According to the permission chart, the appropriate state user enables the changes through the process below. If you are unable to perform the steps below, either you do not have permission to make the changes listed or the section of the state plan cannot be transitioned at this time. Reach out to your state and federal level team members to find out more.

Make Changes and Return for Approval, State User 

  1. Navigate to the published state plan that you need to change.

  1. Select the + to expand the section in “Section in Modification” status.

  1. Select the narrative in “Modification” status.

  1. Select the blue Edit button and make changes to the narrative. Navigate to the status, below the text of the narrative. A narrative requirement view displays the names and status of both the state plan and section, the action buttons menu, text describing where this narrative exists within the section, and the current narrative content text. A green box surrounds the Edit button in the action button menu below the section title. A narrative requirement Edit view displays the current narrative text in edit mode. A notification message displays below the action buttons that the content is locked against simultaneous editing. A green box surrounds the rich text editor, also known as WYSIWYG.  
     

  1. Confirm the new status “Modification Complete” and select the blue Save button to change narrative requirement status. Repeat for each narrative in “Modification” status. 
    The narrative’s edit view displays the editable text field titled “Enter Narrative.” After this field, a green arrow points to the change status area, where you can select to change the narrative status to “Modification Complete.” A green box outlines the ‘Save’ button.
    Or, if you are viewing the narrative instead of editing it, you can change the status from view mode.

  • Navigate below the body of the narrative, and select the '+' to expand the 'Change the Status of this Narrative' box.

  • Choose the option 'Update the status to ‘Modification Complete’' and select 'Make this Change.’
    After the narrative, the view mode displays the a green arrow pointing to the ‘Change the status of this narrative’ box, where you can select 'Update the status to 'Modification Complete.'' A green box outlines the ‘Make this change’ button.

  1. According to the permission chart above, the appropriate state user will make two transitions to the section, steps 6 and 7.

    Select the title of the section to refresh the page. From the section view, select the '+' to expand the 'Change the Status of this Narrative' box. Choose the option 'Update the status to ‘Section Modification Complete’' and select 'Make this Change.’ The section is now in Modification Complete.

  1. Next, it’s time for the second transition, changing the status to send the section for federal review. Select the title of the section to refresh the page. From the section view, select the '+' to expand the 'Change the Status of this Narrative' box. Choose the option 'Update the status to ‘Section in Federal Review’' and select 'Make this Change.’ The section is now in Federal Review.
