p. 4. How the funds reserved for innovation and expansion (I&E) activities were utilized
Current Narrative:
KRS uses the innovation and expansion authority, as specified by the Rehabilitation Act, to support the functions of the State Rehabilitation Council. Expenditures primarily relate to member travel and reimbursement for participating in meetings. Operating within existing resources, the Council does not receive any direct allocation of funds. KRS intends to use innovation and expansion authority to fund the Statewide Independent Living Council of Kansas beginning in 2020.
Consistent with the KRS goals and priorities, innovation and expansion efforts are also underway to promote improved employment outcomes for transition-aged youth and to assist community service providers to build and maintain their capacity to provide evidence-based employment services.
